Philippe Holthuizen, founder of FUSED Footwear and one of the greatest 3D printing veterans, will share his unique knowledge in an in-depth 3-day workshop that will teach you how to print shoes through the unique method he has developed for high speed, low cost and great quality.

Who should follow this masterclass?

This masterclass is designed for people who already have experience with 3D printing that are interested to learn about 3D printing for commercial production. Whether you are a designer looking to sell 3D printed shoes or you are interested in building your own printing farm, this course will teach you how to create an optimized and commercially viable 3D printing workflow. The focus is on sneakers and other flat shoes, this is NOT a course for high heels!

WHAT'S INCLUDED

  • 3 days of classes in Barcelona

Class format: maximum of 6 participants

Printing for production 

During this masterclass, you will learn how to set up slicer settings to achieve faster prints, cheaper production and market ready high quality finishes. You will get insight on the process of troubleshooting during your printing process to overcome common challenges.  Philippe will execute his demo on a Delta machine, a 3D printer suitable for high quality home production.
Selling your own 3D printed shoes
Once you’ve mastered the printer settings, you must build a business model that is aligned with 3D printing. The masterclass will teach you how to calculate price and margin for your shoes and how to build a commercial strategy relevant to your production technique.

Course Requirements

This masterclass is designed for people who already have experience with 3D printing that are interested to learn about 3D printing for commercial production. Whether you are a designer looking to sell 3D printed shoes or you are interested in building your own printing farm, this course will teach you how to create an optimized and commercially viable 3D printing workflow.
You must bring your own laptop to work on (PC or Mac), with a mouse. All software we will use is downloadable for free.

Meet your instructors

Philippe  Holthuizen

FUSED footwear was born out of Philippe's frustration with the complexity and inefficiency of footwear development. He already had the 3D skills to build a whole virtual shoe, and was then introduced to his new favorite tool, a 3D printer. 

Philippe's expertise allowed him to develop a unique FDM printing technique that is the fasted and cheapest in the industry. He is now continually experimenting, pushing the limits of 3D printed footwear, by building a brand around the shoes he makes.

You will be working with the printers in our lab, learning in-depth about both hardware and software.
Footwearology is the only academy for footwear professionals. We enable you to gain the knowledge that will get you, and the companies you work for, ready to create and embrace a better future. All our courses take place online and/or in our LAB in Barcelona, Spain.

Besides teaching, we do research and consulting, focusing on redesigning the entire footwear supply chain by directly connecting technology suppliers, creatives and social media platforms.
