This course is for all professional footwear designers that have 3D modeling skills, can bring their own 3D model to the course and are able to make alterations if needed.

We will teach you how to minimize supports for your model.

Course overview
This 3D printing course is for people that can 3D model their own shoes, either because they have the skills already or because you follow one of our own 3D modeling courses before you come and create your model that way.

This course has a special early bird rate until November 29. There is a maximum of 6 participants, so each person has their own printer to work on.

Course format

classes are from 10:00 - 18:00 each day, with a 1 hour lunch break

For this course we will plan one online class - the date will be determined with the participants - which will take place about a month before we start. This way we can evaluate your models or wishes and explain how to best design for 3D printing, so you have a good model when you arrive.

On the first day of the course we discuss what each participant wants to achieve and assign everyone their own printer accordingly.
Then we take you through a highly personalized trajectory, teaching you how to slice and test your model. We go over possible improvements and print your final shoe.

If there is enough time we can print a full pair of several renditions of one shoe, but that depends on the complexity of your model.

You will need to bring your own laptop (PC or Mac) with the latest version of Cura installed. You will also need whatever 3D modeling software that you used to make your model, such as Blender, Gravity Sketch or Rhino. It is highly recommended to have a mouse!
