Course overview
After lots of exploring we are finally able to fulfil the demand from those of you that want to print heels AND want them to be wearable and fully recyclable or even compostable! In fact, with FDM printing you have the opportunity to not only optimize the aesthetics of heels, but also the comfort!

This course has a new format, so we can accommodate even more people: the classes are all online and then you have the opportunity to either print the shoes yourself, or we print them for you and send them!
This is because you will need a printer with at least two nozzles, so you can combine soft and hard materials. You will receive al list of suitable printers upon enrolment, these start from around 500 euros!

This masterclass is also part of our Footwearise Festival: we will select the best designs to exhibit at our big Footwearise event in December.

There is currently an Early Bird Rate until March 28, or until it is sold out.

Who is this course for?

This course is for everyone who is serious about 3D printing shoes with heels, whether it is a comfortable wedge or sexy high heels. So far we did not give printing courses for heels, because printers and materials had their limitations, but in the past year we have now developed several workflows that are suitable for heels that can be worn beyond the catwalk.

The vast majority of these heels can be fully printed, but very slim heels, like stilettos, will still need extra reinforcements. You will learn all about this in the course.

This course is suitable for both experienced 3D modelers, as well as people without 3D modeling skills. We will present a workflow that is based upon AI for beginners. If you want to have full design freedom, then we do recommend you get our super attractive Head over Heels Bundle and learn Rhino. You can also combine that with the AI workflow. We will have a few digital lasts available in the course, you can also use your own if you have one.

It will help if you have some experience with 3D printing. For making heels you will need to work with multiple nozzles, so we do not recommend this for absolute beginners. If you have no experience in 3D printing at all, then please follow our 3D Printing Wearable Shoes course first.

Class schedule

Online class 1
Design for 3D printing
April 28, 2025
8 - 10 PM CET

In this class we explain how to design for 3D printing, with a specific focus on heels. This is not a 3D modeling class, but a class to explain how you can design in such a way that you can use the specifics of printing in your advantage for the creation of heels. We will also discuss which 3D printers are best for printing heels and why.
Online class 2
AI-assisted Design
April 30, 2025
8 - 10 PM CET

This class is focused on how to design heels in AI, combining 2D and 3D applications with our own Footwearology last subtraction app. We will teach you a simple workflow, but If you want full design freedom, we strongly suggest you follow our Rhino 3D modeling course. We have an attractive bundle for both courses.
Online class 3
Materials and Slicing Basics
May 5, 2025
8 - 10 PM CET

In this class we will first give an overview of 3D printing materials that are suited for different parts of high-heeled shoes. Then we will explain the basics of slicing in Cura, preparing your shoe for printing. If you have a simple shoe, you could start printing after this class.
Online class 4
Slicing details and Printing
May 7, 2025
8 - 10 PM CET

For those of you with more complex shoes we finalize the slicing in this class and start the printing. There will also be time to ask any final questions that remain. If there is a need we can plan an extra class where everyone can show their and discuss their prints.
